It’s also a place he is happy and proud to call home. The 18-year-old who is a familiar face at the town’s FoodWorks store says he has lived in the region for all of his life.
“I like that in The Rock we are a small community where everyone knows each other,” he said.
“In some way or another we are all connected, that can be through work, family or friends,” he said.
Mr Miller said seeing the familiar people coming into the shop was rewarding.
He said it made him happy to be able to help others.
“I like helping out … whether it be assisting in taking out groceries for customers or even helping a customer locate an item,” he said.
Mr Miller said the role gives him a chance to meet new faces in the community and to connect with people who are just passing through as well.
When he’s not working Mr Miller is a keen tennis player.
“I love playing tennis during the summer and also a bit of volleyball,” he said.
And in another interest Mr Miller is a keen astronomic enthusiast.
“I enjoy peering into the night sky to see the stars,” he said.
Mr Miller is a volunteer firefighter with The Rock Rural Fire Service and he does this to help assist the community with emergencies.
“I like to help in anyway I can,” he said.
“The best thing about the eastern Riverina is that we are close enough to Wagga yet far enough to stay connected as a small community,” he said.
