There were fears end of school celebrations set to start on Saturday may be disrupted with potential restrictions touted after two mystery cases emerged on the Gold Coast last week.

But Ms Palaszczuk on Thursday gave the class of 2021 - all 53,000 of them - the green light to party.

She said Deputy Chief Health Officer Peter Aitken was confident an outbreak had been averted, with Queensland recording no new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday after 9,877 tests.

"Schoolies is good to go!" the Premier told state parliament.

"The chief health officer has advised he is confident that the two cases on the Gold Coast have been contained and ...there has been no further community spread.

"I want to thank the Gold Coast community for coming out and getting tested."

Ms Palaszczuk said year 12 students had earned their Schoolies break.

"I want to pay tribute to these inspirational young Queenslanders," she said.

"Our year 12s have completed their final two years of schooling under the shadow of COVID, seen many events cancelled.

"The class of 2021 have had to learn how to adapt and ..simply get on with it no matter what was thrown at them.

"They don't get nearly enough credit for their resilience...so congratulations - you made it."

After Schoolies 2020 events were cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions, Education Minister Grace Grace urged school leavers this year to "have fun...but not too much fun".
