Private and public gatherings will be restricted to a maximum of 10 people across the Darling Downs and South Burnett in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 in south-east Queensland.

The restrictions came into effect at 8am on Monday for the Toowoomba Regional Council area as well as the Southern Downs, Western Downs, Goondiwindi, South Burnett and Cherbourg shires.
Residential aged care facilities in these council areas will return to lockdown, with visitors unable to enter unless it is for an essential purpose.
Residents will be unable to leave these facilities, except to receive health care, attend a funeral, or for an emergency or a compassionate reason.
Tighter restrictions have also been applied to disability accommodation facilities.
The same measures came into effect on August 22 for the Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Scenic Rim, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, Moreton Bay and Redland City councils.
If they are operating under a COVID Safe plan, the 10 person limit does not apply to businesses in these regions. This includes cafes, restaurants, clubs, pubs, weddings and funeral venues.
Gatherings outside of these regions are limited to a maximum of 30.
On Friday, a public health alert was issued after a confirmed case from the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre cluster visited Toowoomba's The Southern Hotel on August 16 from 8:15am to 10am and the Queens Park Markets from 10am to 11am.
On Monday morning, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk confirmed one new coronavirus case was reported in Queensland overnight and more than 6800 tests had been conducted in the past 24 hours.
The new case was a close contact of a previously confirmed case linked to the Corrective Services Academy at Wacol and brings Queensland's active case tally to 27.
