A Rennylea Angus bull sold for $38,000 at their Angus autumn sale on Tuesday, a new record for the stud.

The bull was one of 97 offered by the Corrigan family at Ellerslie Park, Culcairn, with 93 going under the hammer on the day for an average of $9226.
"Everyone's very happy and thankful for the support, there was a lot of local support and return clients so we're very pleased," Rennylea stud co-principal Ruth Corrigan said.
The top-priced sire was bought by part of the syndicate that nabbed Te Mania's $52,000 bull last week, Murdeduke Angus, Winchelsea, Vic and Sterita Park Angus, Lucindale, SA outbidding an AuctionsPlus buyer to take home Rennylea P550.
Rennylea P550, sold as Lot 11, had it all, ticking boxes for structure, temperament and carcase data.
He was sired by Rennylea L519, a bull now owned by Booroomooka Angus, and was out of Rennylea K609, a Rennylea G317 daughter.
The 18-month-old tipped the scales at 736 kilograms and a docility score of +17.
He was in the top one per cent of the breed for rump fat (+3.3) and in the top five per cent for days to calving (-8.7), rib fat (+2.4) and intramuscular fat (+3.6).
One half of the purchasers, Nanni Digiorgio of Sterita Park Angus said they liked the top-priced bull's soundness, docility and structure.
"He's a great bull all round," Mr Diogiorgio said.
"We're trying to breed sound bulls with thickness and length that have that birth to growth spread.
"This guy does and he also brings the carcase data to the table which is something we're trying to stay abreast of."
Ms Corrigan agreed the bull was a good overall package.
"He had good phenotype, performance figures, he's a very quiet bull and met our breeding objectives across the page," Ms Corrigan said.
Other top purchases included Rennylea P1344, who sold for $26,000 to C and C Kimpton of Glenthompson in Victoria's Western District.
Rennylea P1344 was a late calf out of Rennylea's high marbling donor Rennylea H186.
Sired by Rennylea L683, he was in the top one per cent for IMF (+4.1) and Heavy Grain Index (+188), and top five per cent for days to calving (-7.8), carcase weight (+81), Angus Breeding (+157) and Heavy Grass Indicies (+140).
It was local clients who came away as the volume buyers of the day.
Glendaruel Pastoral Company, Holbrook purchased eight bulls for an average of $9,875 and top of $11,000.
While, Mulgoa Pastoral Company, Holbrook came home with six bulls for an average price of $8166 and top of $10,000.
Clients from Maaoupe Downs Cattle Company near Mount Gambier, South Australian came away with five bulls including the first lot sold, Rennylea P479, who made $12,000.
While, there was a lot of local and return client support shown for the stud, there were some new faces in the crowd and buyers came from across Victoria, South Australia and NSW, with Western Australian bidders also representing.
Ms Corrigan said they were pleased with how much competition AuctionsPlus buyers offered, 21 purchasers on the day made online.
The top price paid by an AuctionsPlus bidder was $14,000 for Rennylea P983, another son of L683.
The sale was conducted by Nutrien with Andrew Wishart and Peter Godbolt taking turns with the hammer.
