SIGHTING
Driving to Henty from Wagga, Monday week ago after heavy rains, a big bedraggled rattish creature was making its way across the Olympic Highway between The Rock and Yerong Creek.
A quick check of native marsupials identified it as a Southern Brown Bandicoot.
Something other than roos, wallabies and wombats is a good change.
POETRY
The Headlie Taylor Header Museum poetry Competition entries close on January 31, 2020. Winners will be announced by February 28, 2020.
Two categories exist: School-aged children and all other entrants.
The competition is based around the discovery of a new image of Headlie Taylor standing beside his header in 1914. A large print of this image can be seen on the southern side of the museum, adjacent to the car park.
Additional information on the competition can be found by visiting the Header Museum's web site: headlietaylorheadermuseum.org. Entries may be submitted by email to: contact@headlietaylorheadermuseum.org along with your name and the category that the submission is entered under.
ASSISTANCE
Henty Lions Club members are still seeking donations towards their "Feed My Mate" project. The project aims to assist farmers to continue feeding their working dogs.
