The trains were travelling along a rail line that cuts through the Walyunga National Park when the incident happened at Bells Rapids, in the suburb of Brigadoon northeast of Perth, the ABC reported on Tuesday.
The emergency response involves Arc Infrastructure, which operates a rail freight network covering more than 5000 kilometres in WA.
