A working bee has been held by Henty Lions Club members at the Government Dam Reserve, with volunteers chopping down and poisoning exotic trees and vegetation.

Plans are to manage the northern side of the creek to create additional useable space for Henty residents. Henty Lions Club is also looking forward to welcoming district governor Omen Ndlovu and zone chairman Barry Verbunt to its dinner meeting being held tonight, October 9.
Members will hone their culinary skills when conducting a barbecue in the Henty Memorial Park on Sunday, October 13, as part of the family festival in conjunction with the Mental Health Grief and Loss Weekend.
Remember to find time to participate in the many happenings this weekend with the various elements of the Mental Health Grief and Loss Weekend.
On Monday, October 21 there will be a celebration of Captain Bob Kilo's life at the Henty Preschool, Lyne Street.
Starting at 1.30pm, it will involve the unveiling of a plaque with afternoon tea to follow. RSVP to Henty preschool on 02 6929 3472 - please bring a plate.
St Paul's Primary School, Henty has its market day on Tuesday October, 15 from 3.30-5pm. Years 5 and 6 students, who have designed their own businesses, will have products to sell. Hair accessories, food, drink, lollies, games, animal treats, gift items and more. Everyone is welcome.
St Paul's is also gearing up for a billy cart race day. Students are revved up and eager to participate.
The event will be held at Cameron and Sarah Male's farm on Sunday, October 20.
