The 27-year-old was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm but this was withdrawn and dismissed at Waverley Local Court on Wednesday.
He pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of common assault.
Police in January alleged Chee Kam had punched a 26-year-old driver through his car's open window on Campbell Parade about 10.30pm on December 30.
Officers were flagged down and later arrested Chee Kam in a taxi nearby.
The New Zealand-born forward has played in all six NRL rounds this year and scored two tries.
He is listed for sentence at the same court on May 7.
His 18-year-old brother, Livingston Chee Kam, also had a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm withdrawn and dismissed on Wednesday.
He's still facing a charge of common assault and is due to return to court on May 14.
Chee Kam flew with his team on Friday afternoon to Tamworth for the Tigers clash with the Gold Coast Titans at Scully Park for round seven on Saturday night.
However, he was told on Friday evening he would miss the game.
"Wests Tigers is working closely with the NRL Integrity Unit and will not make any further comment on the matter until the process is finalised next week," the club said in a statement.
North Queensland Cowboys prop Scott Bolton was suspended for the first five rounds of the 2019 season after pleading guilty in January to common assault.
The 31-year-old drunkenly touched a woman's upper thigh as she tried to move away from him at Bondi Beach Public Bar in May 2018.
Bolton avoided conviction but was placed on a 12-month good behaviour release order. He took to the field for the club's round six win against the Warriors last Saturday.
