Conservation requests were originally made to Estella, The Gap, Lockhart, Boree Creek and Urana in December after the first heatwave slowed supply.
With little heat relief received in the past month, the requests have now been made more permanent.
In December, a fixed sprinkler ban was given between the hours of 10am until 5pm.
Now also, residents of the affected areas will be discouraged from excessive water use on lawns and gardens.
Riverina citizens have also been provided with the opportunity to have their say on the draft restrictions guideline.
On public exhibition since the second week of January, the draft water restriction policy will remain active for submissions until the close of business on February 15.
After which, the recommendations will be provided to the council to review.
