The defending champions proved their win over Wagga last season was no fluke with a stunning display of cricket against the might of Wagga.
Teenage all-rounder Ed Perryman starred for the Sky Blues with a man of the match performance that will be long remembered in local cricket circles.
Perryman claimed four wickets with his leg spin, completed a stunning run-out of Wagga captain Sam Perry, and then batted through the innings, 44 no.
Wagga, after winning the toss and batting, posted 150 against a very determined HDCA attack and fielding performance that was exemplary.
Holbrook held three difficult outfield catches to dismiss the dangerous Wagga trio of Brayden Ambler, Warren Clunes and James Richards.
Perryman, among all this, completed the brilliant run out when he fielded off his own bowling and threw down the stumps underarm, off balance and from side on.
Clunes (32), Robinson (31) and Richards were all set and looking dangerous when dismissed at crucial points in the game.
William Heriot, although not taking a wicket, bowled superbly to take 0-19 off ten overs, while Todd Hannam with 1-21 off nine overs was pivotal.
Ryan Kirkwood, David White, Hamish Mackinlay, and Andrew Mackinlay all took a wicket as Wagga were bowled out in the 50th over, five short of its allotted amount.
An opening stand of 32 between Heriot and Perryman was a steady start for Holbrook before Heriot was stumped for 19.
Perryman was joined by Andrew Mackinlay and they added a valuable 46 runs before Mackinlay was dismissed for 28 that included one huge six over midwicket.
In-form TRYC skipper Hannam was next in and after a quiet and calculated start he and Perryman finished off the match with an unbeaten partnership of 73.
Perryman showed amazing temperament to finish 44 no, while Hannam hit the ball crisply to be 37 no as Holbrook won with eight overs to spare.
