It is the reason the region’s own dairy supplier shared its latest success, introducing two new products to the market.
Two years after regaining its independence, Riverina Fresh chief executive Robert Collier said its small but dedicated group of farmers were the real champions behind this month’s achievement.
The brand last week announced its lactose free milk and premium ‘Gold’ coffee milk bottles were hitting supermarket shelves across NSW and Victoria.
Mr Collier said while the dry weather and bleak forecast for the months ahead was disheartening, there were still reasons for farmers to celebrate.
“The outlook is good for dairy,” Mr Collier said. “We’re regaining our identity and we’re growing.”
He said the product was all about taste.
“Not all milk is milk,” Mr Collier said. “We think ours tastes better.”
After 12 months of development, he said Riverina ‘Gold’ was the best product for coffees, with the perfect taste and texture for coffee crafting.
