HMFD chairman Ross Edwards talked up the bright outlook for sheep and cattle prices and spoke of record returns for prime lamb producers at a saleyard level.
He also mentioned the Trigger Vale Stud run at Lockhart which achieved a sale gross for stud rams of $500,000 last week.
For exhibitors there was plenty of good news too. Visitors were keen to secure pumps and equipment to better secure stock and domestic water on their properties.
Meanwhile, catering organisations were kept busy. Many of these groups had ties to Henty and it was an ideal opportunity to raise money for educational, sporting and community groups.
The event continues on Wednesday and Thursday.
