ON THURSDAY, August 30, the Students' Representative Council (SRC) will be holding a cupcake sale day at Henty Public School to raise funds for the Lakatoro Primary School Malekula, Vanuatu and also for the Australian drought relief project in NSW. The SRC will sell the cupcakes and will use the funds to buy graded readers to assist the program.
Last Friday, Ann Taylor, a resident of Wagga, who raises money for educational items to assist with the program, visited and gave a brief talk to all students regarding the program and shared her personal experiences of life. The Department of Education is encouraging schools to assist with drought relief for farmers in our state. Part of the funds raised will go towards this campaign. All students are being asked to wear “farmer” clothes for the day. A fun farmer parade will be held in conjunction with our book fair. Parents/carers are invited to attend.
