The shop was also damaged, including the front door in which the perpetrators damaged to enter the premise, according to reports.
A spokesperson for Kengal Krafters said the community and those associated with the store were disappointed.
“They smashed the door in, even though there was a deadlock, and took the one cabinet that’s full of jewellery. There was a big foot mark on the door.
“They took nothing else – this is the first time it’s happened,” the spokesperson said.
The incident happened between Tuesday and Wednesday, July 17–18.
The front door has since been repaired and the shop is awaiting a more secure door installation.
Riverina Police District Inspector Rob Vergano, of The Rock Police Station, said it was an unfortunate situation and that investigations were continuing.
“Just under $3000 worth [of jewellery] was taken.
“We’re still examining the information and have no leads about the perpetrators at the moment.
“Police are still seeking witnesses so we’re asking the community to assist us,” Inspector Vergano said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact The Rock Police Station on 02 6920 2044 or NSW Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
