Chances are if you have visited FoodWorks at The Rock you have met Mrs Camin. She is the person who can help you secure the “hard to find” item or tell you what is going on in the community and beyond.
She is one of the people who makes the town tick, and she has her finger on the pulse.
And the saying “if you want to get something done, ask a busy person” certainly applies to her. Mrs Camin has seven children and helps out in the community as much as she can. Her two youngest children attend The Rock Central School.
“I’ve lived here in The Rock for 15 years … and I have worked at the supermarket for two years,” she said. “I really enjoy working there and I have gotten to know a lot of our regular customers,” she said.
Mrs Camin said in her role it gives her a feeling of fulfillment in terms of helping out the local community and also helping her friends. “My friends (and regular customers) are the best part of my working day,” she said. “It is a great feeling being able to greet everyone by name and catch up on their lives when they come in.” She said seeing customers walk out of the store with a smile always leaves her smiling too.
With looking after her family and working at the shop Mrs Camin said there was very little “free time.”
“A typical day often includes getting the kids off to school and then racing off to work,” she said.
