The eastern Riverina riders joined with other cyclists from throughout the region to participate in the Pedalcure4MND ride.
From what started as an initial target to raise $10,000 to fight Motor Neurone Disease (MND) the amount soon expanded to more than $120,000.
About 25 cyclists, mostly from Lockhart, completed the 700 kilometre journey.
The ride started at Ungarie a week earlier, and included stops at Ariah Park, Ganmain, Lockhart, Corowa, Benalla and Seymour. In addition to the fundraising efforts and the awareness the ride generated for MND it went so much further. The camaraderie of the Lockhart riders is to be applauded. It also promoted fitness in the region and highlighted how well communities in rural areas can work together.
