After heatwave conditions last year organisers of the town’s annual show were pleased to see milder temperatures throughout the Riverina.
Henty Show Society president Warren Dale said the show had plenty of diversity and patrons were not disappointed.
He said there was a lot to see and do on the day.
From livestock exhibits to equestrian events and showgirl and showboy competitions there was something for everyone.
“We are very lucky this year to have our showgirl representing us at the Sydney Royal Easter Show,” Mr Dale said.
Henty’s Emily Jones will represent the region in the final of the showgirl competition.
Henty has in fact had two showgirls make it through the zone final system and head to Sydney for judging.
However, Mr Dale estimates that it could be 20 years or more since the town had a showgirl at the royal.
“We had a wonderful day and pretty much everything ran smoothly,” he said after the event on Saturday.
“The pavillion exhibits were well supported and we had lots of photography,” he said.
Meanwhile, wool growers supported the fleece section and exhibited some of their best.
“The sheep and cattle section went well too,” he said.
Mr Dale said there was a huge amount of work involved ot put on a one-day show. And Saturday was the 114th for Henty.
“We are trying to keep going and we do our best each year, we just hope that the community keeps on supporting us,” he said.
And distance was no barrier for patrons and exhibitors who travelled from Albury, Wagga and throughout the local area.
Henty Machinery Field Days chief executive officer Belinda Anderson officially opened the Henty Show.
