This is a region that constantly enjoys sporting and business success and when people go out on a limb to make things happen it’s an area that really shines.
Dan Hoban of Henty is bringing back the much-loved tradition of door-to-door milk delivery.
It’s a great concept. It has business sense but also provides a feel good story for those who enjoy the nostalgia of the good old days.

ROSE Lehmann of Lockhart will head to Sydney later this year to receive her Order of Australia Medal (OAM). This is a huge achievement and goes a long way to recognise the work she has contributed to the community and beyond. During her interview with the Eastern Riverina Chronicle Mrs Lehamann pointed out that Lockhart would be home to five recipients of the OAM. This highlights the strength of a rural township which has a reputation for sticking together during the tough times and the good times.

MEETING the criteria to gain state and federal funding for projects can be an arduous task.
However, a recent round of announcements has allowed the communities of Lockhart and The Rock to embark on some exciting projects.
The Rock Regional Observatory has received $100,000 from the NSW Government’s 2017 Community Building Partnership program. Meanwhile, other community benefits include funding towards a new meeting room and dining area at The Rock and District Men’s Shed. There were also funds for a kitchen upgrade and disabled access at The Rock Memorial Bowling Club and the replacement of goal posts for The Rock Yerong Creek Football Club.
