He is also possibly one of the biggest field day fans you could find. But his historic photos are stirring up interest among farmers and machinery enthusiasts.
Mr Carter found some old photos that date back to the early 1970s. The photos were taken at the Henty Machinery Field Days. The images depict the machinery of the day.
From Massey Ferguson tractors to John Deere, Case and New Holland, Mr Carter has a pictorial history of them all.
“Ever since I was a little boy I have loved field days and machinery,” he said.
He has been to field days all over Australia and enjoys the atmosphere and displays that can only be found at these agricultural events.
After he found some of the images in the shed – and then looked around the house to unearth more – some of the photos were shared on social media.
Mr Carter said it was amazing how many people were interested in old machinery and photos.
“I didn’t think people would be so curious … I had them and then forgot about them but I am very happy I have found all of these photos and can share them,” he said.
