Digging holes in any backyard in Henty can usually uncover something of the past. Digging in grounds that had a hospital established can bring up surprises virtually anywhere you dig. Lately it was an old glass inkwell, still in pretty good nick and a couple of clay jars with pouring lips.

NSW Fire and Rescue has formally offered to the Henty Historical Society the old police stables. Upon mutual agreement, the stables will be stored, preserved and hopefully reconstructed in an appropriate setting in the coming years. Those Henty residents with some building skills will be invited to assist the society members in due course in the deconstruction. A reasonable amount of research will be done to acknowledge the worth and history of the structure.
