In a move to be more environmentally aware the store will cease the use of plastic bags from May 1.
There will be no plastic bags used to pack groceries. However, shoppers have been given an option to use a paper bag alternative, with strong handles. The paper bags will be free until June 30, during the transition phase, and after that will incur a 10 cent fee.
Consumers also have the option of sourcing green “reusable bags” too.
To make the transition as smooth as possible supermarket bags are available in bundles of 20.
