HENTY Men’s Shed members are off to CSU Thurgoona mid-May for a ‘Spanner in the Works’ free health check-up. Included in this Men’s Shed program are; Diabetes assessment; podiatry screening; blood pressure testing and a healthy lunch – no barbeque this time. It is an opportunity for men to have a check-up and for the university medical students to get some hands-on experience.

HENTY Lions Club is looking into holding a seminar sometime near the end of June this year on healthy eyesight. The latest information on correct eyecare and how to make your eyes last longer will be discussed. Times and dates will be advised closer to the event.

HENTY & District Lifestyle Centre have now a modified Futsal pitch marked out in their in-door sports hall. Futsal or in-door soccer will be available as soon as a number of other in-door sports courts are marked out and the lines sealed. The Basketball court is as near to the current international standards as the limitations of the hall allow.

A SOLID start has been made on the kiosk and Tennis Club’s club rooms. The associated works will complete the redevelopment of the sports precinct of the Memorial Park.

THE Henty Show Society Committee members have conducted a post-mortem on this event and there are changes afoot. The executive: President Warren Dale, Kerry Small, John Ebsworth, Terry Carter, Colin Scheuner and Garry Small are looking at cost effective advertising with Garry investigating the benefits of a show website. The website will include a program of events, horse program and will list proposed entertainment.
