PLANS are afoot to address the land between the Government Dam Nature Reserve and the rail line; the rough paddock opposite the showgrounds. The site is being considered for a more practical use. Sladen Street will receive its “face lift” with council moving ahead with their redevelopment plans. Also, the old canteen at Henty’s swimming pool has been demolished to make way for the new structure which will incorporate Henty Tennis Club’s new premises. That, together with new housing going up and new physiotherapy equipment, all indicate a healthy and progressing community.

THE Bible has sparked the interest of Australians for 200 years and the Bible Society celebrates its 200th anniversary. David Muller, secretary Henty Branch, attended the Bible Society Roadshow and Family Fun Day on Saturday at Albury.
It included stage performances, Choirs, The Jesus Racing Car, numerous displays, activities and the Planet Shakers Band.
The Bible Society will be promoting its bi-centenary celebration at Henty on Sunday, August 13 when their representative will be speaking at the Riverlife, Presbyterian and Lutheran churches followed by a barbecue lunch in conjunction with the local Henty Branch's annual Bike for Bibles Ride.
