A BUDDING local entrepreneur has been shortlisted for a prestigious national prize.
Wagga’s Naomi Stuart is a top 20 finalist in SheStarts, a competitive startup program for businesswomen with big ideas for high-impact businesses.
Ms Stuart has been selected from over 800 applicants and is in the running for $100,000 in pre-seed funding and a place in the SheStarts accelerator for her business FarmPay.
Through FarmPay, farmers will be able to receive real-time payment for on-farm grain sales, reducing the risk while also improving cashflow.
“Delayed payments mean that farmers are unable to pay their own bills and workers – it has a real impact on the business,” Ms Stuart said.
The people’s choice vote will account for 10 per cent of the judging criteria to select the final 10.
Voting closes at 12pm on Thursday. To vote, visit the FarmPay website.
