OSBORNE made it six straight wins in the HDCA 2016/17 season by defeating Holbrook by 57 runs at Osborne Sportsground.
The home side were never really threatened with in form top order batsman Luke Richardson just missing his second straight century.
Richardson was dismissed for (90) after making 108 last week. Richardson now has accumulated 407 runs for the season averaging 67.83.
He and captain Darren Howard put on an opening stand of 124 with Howard making (25). Joe Perryman made (25no) and Ryan Collins (22) as they made 3/191.
Coby Ross, Lewis Bowen and Jim Grills were the only bowlers to stem the tide as the Brookers had no answer to Richardson.
In reply Holbrook were dismissed for 134, with five players including three of its top order all being dismissed for nought.
Apart from Bowen (49), Kyle McBain (40) and Grills (32) the other eight batters contributed just five runs between them.
Henry Bennett was the star with the ball for Osborne claiming 5/20 off eight overs. Veteran Trevor Howard made a nice return to take 2/29 and Bill Alexander 2/15.
Henty kept alive its hopes of finishing in the top two with a 34 run win over a much improved Culcairn at Henty Sportsground.
!5 year old Nick Murray was superb with the bat for Henty top scoring with (88) as the Swampies posted 3/170 after batting first.
Brayden Pantling continued his good form with (24), while veteran Mark White chipped in with (20) and Grant Gardiner (16no).
The Culcairn bowlers competed well with none better than Nick Godde who took 2/34 off eight overs. Mitch Godde was again economical with 0/21 off eight.
The Lions run chase featured six players making double figures but none could go on and make a big score.
Mitch Godde (30) top scored with captain Dylan Pumpa (27), Jamie Lennon (16), Nick Godde (14) and Paul Jenkins also (14) as they made 136.
Henty opening pair Chris Manns and Dylan Hore were superb both taking three wickets in their eight overs for a combined total of just thirty runs off them.
Pantling completed a good game to take 3/21, while returning football star Simon Hillier bowled three overs without taking a wicket.
Culcairn will have the bye in next week’s final round before the Christmas/New Year break, with the Osborne v TRYC match set to be a beauty at Yerong Creek.
