
A man has died after being crushed by a hay bale in the southern Riverina.
Emergency services were called when the 55-year-old man was found unconscious in a paddock on a farm near Jerilderie around 5.45pm on Saturday.
Witnesses attempted to revive the man but were unsuccessful, police said.
A crime scene was established by officers from the Deniliquin Local Area Command as an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death began, however it is not believed to be suspicious.
Police said initial investigations indicate the man was crushed by a bale while he was unloading a truck.
