HENTY has boosted its chances of returning to Hume Football League finals by signing Matt Klemke and Simon Hillier as co-coaches.
The Swampies dropped out of the top six for the first time since 2010 this year. but now, not only have they secured the co-coaches, they have picked up genuine talent across the board.
Tallangatta spearhead and former Holbrook player James Breen and his Tallangatta premiership teammate Rhett Thomson have signed up. The news got better with the signature of classy MCU Eastlake midfielder and Riverina FL representative Dusty Rogers as assistant coach.
Local boy Josh Spencer is returning from Rutherglen while fellow Swampies premiership player and Tallangatta FL Barton Medallist Jared Farwell is a strong chance of joining him.
Klemke coached Rivcoll Bushpigs in 2005 and 2006 before taking over at Culcairn the following season and leading the Lions to a flag in the first of his three years at the helm.
Hillier took Mitta United to the grand final in his first season as coach of the Tallangatta and District league club this year but opted not to continue in the top job.
Henty look set to not only return to finals action, but put some real pressure on current premiers Brock Burrum Saints.
The Saints, who have won three of the last four Hume premierships, recently signed Lavington star Kade Stevens and former local and AFL legend Justin Koschitzke.
