From director of the preschool in Henty to acting principal of Henty Public School, Theresa Kane has had a strong history in Henty’s education system.
After two-and-a-half years in the assistant principal role, Mrs Kane is leaving the school to start work at Thurgoona Public School in August.
The best part of her career at the school? Forging relationships between the school and the community.
“I am extremely proud of the community collaboration and the school involvement for the white cross ceremony at last year’s Anzac ceremony,” Mrs Kane said.
“It was a great opportunity for the students to be involved.”
The range of activities available to students is also something Mrs Kane takes pride in after attending the school herself as a student when she was growing up.
“We offer a wide range of activities for students,” she said.
However, these factors would be nothing without the strong team of staff and teachers at the school.
“The teachers are strong dedicated professionals who care about the education and wellbeing of students,” Mrs Kane said.
Justin Graham from Forest Hill Public School is taking up the role as principal at the school from Monday, July 18.
“I have heard great things about the school and it seemed like an exciting time (for the new role),” he said.
Mr Graham hopes to keep the school's relationship with the community strong.
“Theresa has done a great job at the school and has a great relationship with the community,” he said.
“I’d love to keep that going for the school.
“I am grateful for the opportunity and look forward to meeting parents and community members.”
