
A 19-year-old man is facing a string of charges over the crash death of a teenage boy at The Rock on Sunday.
The man was allegedly behind the wheel when the vehicle crashed into a tree on Vincents Road and rolled onto its roof.
Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of the crash flowed in around 2pm.
Tragically, the white Ford sedan’s passenger, a 13-year-old boy, died at the scene.
The driver was treated for minor injuries at the crash site by paramedics prior to being taken to Wagga Rural Referral Hospital for blood and urine tests.
A crime scene was established at the Vincents Road site, where specialist forensic officers combed the tragic scene for evidence surrounding the crash.
The Wagga branch of the Volunteer Rescue Association assisted for several hours, providing lighting.
Following examinations of the site, the 19-year-old driver was taken to Wagga police station and now faces a raft of charges relating to the crash.
He will appear before Wagga Local Court on Monday to answer charges of negligent driving causing death, aggravated burnout, driving while unlicensed, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving an uninsured vehicle.
