Members of the Jindera CWA started making poppies out of wool or yarn in October last year for this years Anzac Day Ceremony.
The groups handicraft officer, Helen Glachan, came up with the idea last year and proposed it to the group.
With close to 30 members there has been a varried number of poppies made.
Ms Glachan has made 80 herself with other members making 30 or 40 and other members of the community have been making poppies.
The poppies will be strung around the fence surrounding the memorial in Jindera on Anzac Day.
The Jindera CWA will provide morning tea after the service on Anzac Day and ask members of the community to bring along a plate of food.
Poppies are significant to Australians as they were the first plant to flower on the battle fields in France.
In soldiers’ folklore the vivid red colour of the poppy came from the blood of their comrades soaking the ground.
