WHAT a weekend! Picnic races, Spirit of the Land, bowls galore and still more happening in Lockhart this weekend.

Saturday saw the playing of the “General Jackson” Johnny Powter Day with about 50 bowlers playing

Thanks to the Parson clan and the boys from Ettalong who all travelled considerable distance.  After two games of bowls the winners on the day were:

  • First: Max Montgomery, Lisa McIntosh and Jack Howarth.
  • Second: Michael Petherbridge, Barbara Powter, and Col Powter.
  • Third: John Burns, Brian Blake and Lilly Male.

Best Card for game one was Michael Powter, Jude Carter, Nike Carter and Dave Podmore

Best Card for game two was Bruce Rayner, Ranee Parsons and Bev Parsons.

Saturday night members and guests were entertained by Kevin Keats – a good time by all.

Bowlers travelled to Henty on Sunday to play “Odewahn Shield”. Henty were too good on the day. Thanks to Ray and Patsy for filling in.

This coming Saturday Lockhart play at home to The Rock. Don’t forget to put your names in for the Fred and Billy Day on Sunday and the Lil and Roy Schirmer Day on October 22. The Caulfield Cup “ Calcutta” will be run on Friday at 8pm.
