Racism in the Riverina?
Has racism reared its head with three simple words, ‘sink boat people’ attached to a large road sign welcoming tourists to the Riverina? Using printed letters in red, the offender pasted the message on the NSW tourist information sign located on the Olympic Highway between Henty and Yerong Creek.
Solar panels enrich school
St Patrick’s Primary School community expect to make a tidy profit of $5,000 by selling electricity generated by its new solar panels back to the supplier. Over a period of one year, the Holbrook Catholic school will be able to recoup the electricity used by the school.
Greater Hume Shire Council has determined it will move away from differential rating for residential and business landowners and introduce a common rate in the dollar by the 2012/2013 Financial Year.

Culcairn have won the right to play Henty in this weekends Holbrook and District Cricket grand final, following a rain affected drawn match against Holbrook at Culcairn.
