President, Eleanor Wilson, welcomed all members and three guests.
A minute's silence was observed in memory of the late Edna Collins who had been a respected member of Probus.
With Anzac Day approaching president Eleanor read to the group a moving address as given by her daughter as guest speaker at a former Anzac Day ceremony.
She stressed the courage, mateship and the Anzac spirit that prevailed among those who served their country.
Kim Schultz, road safety officer for Greater Hume and Lockhart Shires, was the day's guest speaker.
Kim highlighted the fact that fatigue and speed often contributed to vehicle crashes while statistics showed that male drivers aged between 30 and 60 were most at risk with one in seven drivers involved in a crash not wearing seat belts.
Previously Kim had spent 16 years as an advanced driving instructor.
Her away from work interest is in raising clydesdale horses.
The next meeting of the Henty/Culcairn Probus Club will be held at the Culcairn Bowling and Recreation Club on Wednesday, May 10 at 10am.
