The comedian and writer is tailor-made for a show like this, where panelists read out a statement from a card about themselves and everyone has to work out whether the story is true or not.
Mortimer has lived quite a colourful life, making it almost impossible to accurately pick whether or not he's telling a lie.
After all, this is a guy who told the panelists he conducted his own dental work. It sounds like a complete lie, but it was actually true.
But whether or not he's telling a porkie pie, the way Mortimer tells the story is always incredibly amusing. It's a shame he's not on here every week.
This episode does contain the youngest ever Would I Lie to You panelist in 15-year-old Lenny Rush.
He's got a bit of a profile as an actor in the UK but I had to Google the guy because I'd never heard of him before.
He's not as good as Mortimer (but who really is?) though Rush can tell a good story. And make it hard to work out whether it's true or not.

INDIANA JONES: IN PURSUIT OF AN ICON
- 8.35pm, Thursday, SBS
The French seem to have a habit of making these quicky documentaries made up of old TV clips paired up with interviews involving people who I assume are names in France.
I've seen a number of French-made docos about actors and movies along these lines. They contain almost nothing new and the bulk of screen time is given over to people with no connection to the subject giving their opinions.
They always leave me feeling like the sum total of the research was done via Wikipedia.
This time, the subject is the series of films featuring the legendary character of Indiana Jones.
But there are no fresh interviews with actor Harrison Ford, or co-creators Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.
The makers have simply gone through the video archives to find old interview footage, which means any fans of the Raiders of the Lost Ark franchise have probably heard the anecdotes before.
I'm not a Raiders nerd but even I had already heard most of the information in this doco.
Just about the only thing I wasn't aware of was that the series lifted some scenes wholesale from the old movie serials of the 1940s.
Yes, I knew the series was based on those serials, but I didn't realise some set pieces - like the giant rolling rock at the start of Raiders - were direct lifts from those old shows.
If you're a big fan of Raiders, best rachet down your expectations. It's unlikely you'll learn anything new here.

WOLFE
midnight, Thursday, Seven Plus
This is another one of those shows that features a crime scene investigator who is also a genius.
You have to wonder if there is ever going to be a show centred around a crime scene investigator who is just good at their job but not always the smartest person in the room.
This time the supersmart investigator is Wolfe Kinteh (played by Babou Ceesay).
It's hard to work out whether we're supposed to like him or hate him - especially given the really creepy way the series kicks off.
We see Kinteh breaking into a house to spray the bedsheets with that stuff that makes stains glow. He then takes samples of them.
Whose house is it? Well, it's his ex-wife, which makes his behaviour really off-putting.
The rest of the episode pushes us to side with him, but it's really hard to do when breaking into his ex's house is the first thing we see him do.
