A man has been arrested following the death of his partner when she allegedly fell from an apartment balcony on the seventh floor.

Emergency services performed CPR on the woman, believed to be 39 years old, when she was found on River Road in Parramatta suffering multiple injuries at 1.40am on January 2.

The woman was unable to be revived after allegedly falling from the high-rise balcony and she died at the scene.
An investigation has been launched into her death with police interviewing her 40-year-old partner at Parramatta Police Station after his arrest on January 2.
Police are speaking to the woman's neighbours as the investigation continues.
