In some good news for the pop culture-loving traveller (not to mention the kids), the Kiwi capital is set to host the global premiere of Marvel: Earth's Mightiest Exhibition.
From December 14 until April 28, the Marvel Universe will descend on Wellington, showcasing its earth-shattering 80 years as a literary (ok, comics) and cinematic juggernaut. The immersive exhibition will feature props, costumes and the stories behind the creation of Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, The X-Men and more. Fans will be able to visit the Fantastic Four in their skyscraper headquarters, pose with Black Panther in a Wakandan throne room, and step into Doctor Strange's mirror dimension. Already a lure for movie buffs via the popular Lord of the Rings tours and the special-effects wonderland Weta Workshop, this is one more marvellous reason to head to the windy city. wellingtonnz.com/visit/events
