The trial for a Melbourne driver accused of hitting and killing a 10-year-old boy has been moved to Victoria's Supreme Court in the hope it can begin soon.

Zhou Hai Lu is charged with dangerous driving causing the death of Jack Power in a crash in August 2018.
Life support for the young boy was switched off three days after he was struck by a van, allegedly driven by Lu, on pedestrian crossing in Blackburn North.
A trial date had been set for the case to be heard in the County Court, but was cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The prosecution and defence had agreed to the matter being moved to the Supreme Court in the hope a trial date could be secured much sooner.
Judicial Registrar Tim Freeman said it was possible the matter could be heard this year, and that it was in everyone's interest that it happen soon given the long history of the case.
The trial is expected to take up to two weeks
Lu is on bail.
