Mahmudul Bobbe, aged 33, was last seen running into bushland surrounding the Kirkconnell Correctional Centre about 2pm.

Bobbe is described as being of Indian appearance with a dark brown complexion, thin build of 170cm and 60kg.

He has a shaved head and brown beard, and was wearing a prison-issued green clothing when he escaped the minimum security facility.

Police are urging the public to call triple zero if they spot Bobbe, but stress he must not be approached.
