Originally from Lake Cargelligo and now studying university in Albury, Robertson, 23, is doing his bit for mental health awareness.
Aptly named "Joggin for the Noggin", he will be attempting to run from Thurgoona to Walbundrie - a total of around 55km.
The run will take place on October 31, ending at the Walbundrie Sportsground where raffles and other fundraising activities will take place.
Robertson will also be shaving his long, flowing blonde locks as part of the cause. This part of the event will take place at the Walbundrie Hotel.
"It certainly is the biggest challenge of my life - it's something I never thought I would attempt," Robertson said of the 55km-run.
"Coming from a small rural town, it is very hard to sometimes find the courage to speak out about your health and wellbeing.
"The whole purpose is to set myself a challenge to show people of all ages, but particularly men, that it is OK to share and communicate your feelings.
"Coming from Lake Cargelligo the stereo type we are all raised with is to be tough and don't complain."
Robertson has not had a hair cut for more than three years, making it a perfect time for him to do it for a worthy cause.
"My family are pretty happy the long locks are going to disappear, and I guess a lot of people won't recognise me down the street for a while" Robertson quipped.
Robertson, who has played football at Lavington Panthers since moving to the city, has been running about 40km/h a week in preparation.
"I have been following a program from my physiotherapist and that is about the range he thinks will hold me in good stead for the run."
