Just 4.5L of one of the world's best coffees was on sale at Tamworth cafe, Camp Grounds.
Despite the serious price tag every drop was drunk before 9am.
But it was worth every cent, he said.
"Absolutely delicious," he said in his final verdict.
"It was really interesting to watch the flavour change throughout the temperature drop.
"When it first hit those tongues at 90 degrees you were getting those really jasmine and coriander and very floral flavours.
"But as it got cooler you were getting more of those honeydew and melon and candy sugar and lemons. It was really interesting.
"The flavours were very pungent all the way through."

Punters were lined up out the door at Camp Grounds from its 6am opening.
"We had people at 10am ringing up and asking if you can get it," he said.
"A lot more people wanted to experience it."
The cafe only purchased a trio of 125-gram bags of the record-breaking Ethiopian brew.
A single determined person could have drank it all in a single sitting - though "it'd be a very costly sitting", he joked.
The cafe got the special batch-brew in honour of International Coffee Day.
