Or maybe it's the opposite ... that this hideous pandemic has blown up our expectations of a regular week so completely that the whirlpool of weirdness is now the "new normal"?
More positive cases were confirmed across the nation - in the Illawarra, Port Macquarie, in South Australia, West Wimmera and countless more communities.
Yet there has been a wonderfulness to emerge today, too. There's a country pub in Stawell that's offering free meals to the elderly and those in financial distress; the Ballarat businesswomen who teamed up to gift flowers (bound for the bin) to vulnerable people and healthcare workers; and there's Greg Love who was willing to share his special kind of isolation with the world. Free pizza also may make everything a bit brighter in Moree for a moment - as it probably would in most places!
But still, we need to maintain that balance and perspective. Many more people the world over will grieve loved ones before this is done. Just don't forget the people in the middle - the police.
Not doctors, not health experts, not politicians, but tasked with the job of enforcing those potentially life-saving restrictions all the same. Be kind to them, too.
