Competitors are waiting to see if some events can be postponed and held later in the year and others are cancelled.
The popular Man from Snowy River Bush Festival at Corryong, which was due to run in April, will now aim to run at a later date.
After consultation with Visit Victoria chief executive officer Brendan McClements it was announced that the festival could not proceed in April as initially planned.
Organisers are hoping to announce a new festival date by the end of this month.
The Australian Professional Rodeo Association has published, that in order to comply with current government stipulations on non-essential organised gatherings, Clare Rodeo in South Australia, Euroa Rodeo Victoria and Penrith Xtreme Bulls would not run this weekend.
Holbrook Show, on the calendar for Sunday, has been cancelled and so has Yass Show, which was also due to take place this weekend.
A run of Professional Bull Riding (PBR) Australia events were also due to run.
PBR Australia general manager Glen Young said due to concerns regarding coronavirus the Geelong Stampede scheduled for March 28 and the Bendigo Stampede scheduled for April 4, 2020 have been cancelled.
In a statement he said: We are assessing various options and following closely the requirements of the relevant federal, state and local government authorities for non-essential, organised public gatherings.
PBR Australia will provide updates on the remaining PBR 2020 Tour dates in due course.
"The health and safety of our fans, competitors, partners and employees remains a top priority, and we thank you for your support," the statement read.
The Show Horse Council of Australasia postponed the 2020 grand national championships telling members the decision was based on advice about large events and concerns regarding the spread of coronavirus.
