After finishing runner up in the first two legs of the Riverina Tri Series, at Ganmain and Temora, Donaldson dominated the bike leg to reverse the results from the opening race of the series.
Donaldson proved too strong for teenager Liam Wilcox with the difference between the pair on the bike telling over the finish line.
Organiser Michael Mazzocchi was impressed with Donaldson's performance.
"He rode really strong, we went out on the bike about 15 seconds behind Liam Wilcox after the initial run, but then powered away," Mazzocchi said.
"He came in with a three minute gap off the bike and then carried it through.
"He took it out really easily in the end."
Mazzocchi was also impressed by his time of 58.30 minutes, more then three seconds clear of Wilcox (1:01.53).
"Anyone who cracks an hour at our event in flying," he said.
"That is a great effort."
Meanwhile Claudia Taylor (1:12.00) brought up a hat-trick in the women's event.
However Chloe Hamblin, who has now finished second in all three legs, closed the gap this time around.
Off the back of a strong final run leg, Hamblin was just 11 seconds away but couldn't reel in Taylor after another powerful bike leg.
"She has a good hold on the Tri Series now," Mazzocchi said.
Mazzocchi was also thrilled with the overall event with around 220 competitors taking part, a slight increase on last year.
