Diana Alexander of Lockhart received an Australia Day honour for her commitment to the Riverina arts, theatre and education communities.

She was recognised for her years of service to the arts and education communities in both Lockhart and Wagga, Mrs Alexander has this year received an Order of Australia medal.
"It's a great privilege, I'm still coming to terms with it all. It's so much to be recognised for," she said.
"My journey through education has involved so many. It's such a privilege to have been able to work with the teachers, schools and students I have worked with."
The Lockhart Shire Australia Day Award citizen of the year was awarded to Ian Weily who has served as treasurer of The Rock Golf Club for 45 years consecutive years from 1975 to 2019.
Mr Weily's legacy is the conversion of the old clubhouse with its partial dirt floor and archaic amenities to the modern premises it is today. Ian was the chairman of the Centenary Committee in 2014. He is a life member of the club and recently received the 2019 award for services to Golf NSW.
Corey Beckett, a member of the Pleasant Hills Fire Brigade was also acknowledged during Lockhart Shire's celebrations at The Rock swimming pool.
Mr Beckett has been a member of the Pleasant Hills Hall Committee for 20 years as well as the Rand Walbundrie Walla Football Club, where he volunteered as a Reserve Grade boundary umpire for 15 years. He attends the Police and Community Consultation Group meetings representing Pleasant Hills and has acted as Chairman on a number of occasions when Pleasant Hills has hosted Australia Day.
Leo Driscoll has played an integral role in The Rock and Yerong Creek communities and was acknowledged for his willingness to help others.
