Sunday's rain and the following showers were welcomed by everyone. At times the rain was heavy enough to inundate some roads, with the wind bringing down tree limbs and the odd whole tree. Domestic water tanks were filling and some smaller creeks had a small flow of water. We could have done without the dust though.

Still, it's a good rain that has fallen with some dams in paddocks near full on Monday morning, however, much more rain will need to fall to make a significant difference to the remaining dams.
Men's Shed
Men's Sheds across the Riverina, South West Slopes and North East Victoria are looking at ways they can assist communities suffering the effects of the recent bushfires and also supporting the native wildlife.
A committee of representatives across this region will coordinate efforts. Rather than taking a lead role, they will offer services meeting the needs of individual communities. Not all sheds will be able to meet a specific role, however other sheds may.
Bishop visit
St Barnabas, Henty's Anglican Church, hosted a visit from Bishop Donald Kirk, the eleventh Bishop of Riverina on Sunday. Joining Father Ken Dale at the Sunday Service at Culcairn and Henty were parishioners from across the Culcairn/Henty Diocese. Also attending the service were representatives from the Uniting and Presbyterian Churches. Accompanying the Bishop was wife Cameron. The Bishop provided the sermon and following the service a gathering of 18 enjoyed a lunch at the Henty Bakery.
Henty's Show is set for another great year.
Show time
Show Day is Saturday, February 8. The main attraction this year is Bendy Em, a contortionist. She has the ability to squeeze herself into a 16-inch Perspex box (do not try this at home) as well as other feats and stunts to amaze.
This year's Showgirl is Stephanie Clancy from Walbundrie.
