Two Henty Lions Club delegates were present at their 201V6 Zone 10 and 11 meeting at the Hilltop Albury Wodonga Patient and Carer Centre last Sunday, October 13. Members will also attend the annual convention at Yarrawonga, Victoria in late October.

The Mental Health Grief and Loss Weekend of activities attracted more than 150 people. Convener Melissa Lubke was amazed with the support of the community.
On Friday, a crowd of more than 60 attended Out of the Blue social night at Henty Community Club. Four excellent speakers in Melissa Lubke, Cristi Jaka, Steven Scott delivered powerful presentations about how they each dealt with the tragedy of losing a loved one or a close friend as a result of an accident, cancer and suicide.
Hamish Hocking, ambassador for The Black Dog Institute, told of his battle with depression and how he uses the available tools to help him deal with the illness. Representatives from Lifeline were present and had information available for all. On Saturday, Henty Men's Shed had 45 attend the Rays of Light activity, then taking time out to hear from Riverina Blue ambassador Allen Hunt. Morning tea and lunch was supplied by Henty's Red Cross ladies.
On Sunday, My Happy Place was conducted in the Henty Memorial Park. Forty five young ones and family members were entertained by Albury/Wodonga Totem Skateboarders, Henty Netball Football Club, a jumping castle, cardboard cubby house building and face-painting, also enjoying a sausage sizzle courtesy of Henty Lions Club. The organising committee appreciates the volunteers who made for an amazing weekend and Murrumbidgee PHN and Murrumbidgee Local Health District for funding.
