The new competition was formed through a merger between the Brocklesby DCA and Holbrook DCA.
Once again, there will be both division 1 and 2 in the seniors. The juniors are reverting back to under 13 and 16 competitions.
A feature of this season will be the newly merged Burrumbuttock and Brocklesby. This will replicate what has been done so successfully in the Hume FL competition over the last decade.
The clubs will share hosting rights for home games and will have teams in both senior grades and the under 13 competition.
All up, there will be 10 teams in Division 1, while the Division 2 comp will have nine teams.
Division 1 sides will play 40 overs maximum per innings, with each bowler restricted to eight overs maximum. Division 2 will again be 35 overs per side.
Finals will again be a top six with week one of finals pitting 1 v 6, 2 v 5 and 3 v 4 with the three winners and highest rank loser progressing to the preliminary finals.
Coloured clothes and white balls will be used in both grades, with batting team to supply the umpires in each innings.
Defending premiers Rand will again be the team to beat, with its only real loss being experienced batsman Chris Kreutzberger who has retired. The Pigeons will begin their title defence at home against The Rock Yerong Creek, which after a promising start just missed finals.
Last year's runner-up, Walbundrie, is expected to be strong again and will host old rival Walla in this week's annual Courage Cup encounter.
Henty and Lockhart will do battle at Paech Oval in Henty with both sides very keen to make up for both missing finals action last season.
New club Brock Burrum will travel across the Billabong to take on Culcairn.
The final match should be a beauty, with Osborne taking on Holbrook. The venue has been switched to Holbrook Sporting Complex, with the Osborne ground unavailable due to wicket renovations.
CAW provincial competition has a different start than Hume, with its first four matches all being T20 games.
They will be Saturday and Sunday this weekend and again the following weekend, with all teams playing first and seconds on the same day same venue.
This provides an ideal selection trial for the Border Bullets team that will again participate in the NSW regional Plan B Regional Bash competition.
In other changes for the 2019/20 season the Des Kennedy Shield will be played between CAW Hume and CAW District.
The O'Farrell Cup is also set for a major change with the long and trusted challenge format being reviewed this month.
