With an intense battle for the final three positions on the ladder continuing, one of the season's flag favorites, Brock Burrum, has suffered a bit of a hiccup.
The Saints, looking safe in the top two, have had their season turned upside down after the Giants stormed home in a massive upset.
They have lost top position to Osborne and Culcairn - after its thrashing of winless Magpies - has gone ahead by percentage in second place.
The Giants rattled home the final three goals at Walla to leave the visitors stunned and with a bit of work ahead to reclaim the double chance.
Rand Walbundrie Walla came from almost six goals down in the second term to notch up one of the club's best wins since the final merger.
A highlight of the game was the ruck battle between Saint Matt Seiter and Giants pair Jack Duck and Dean McCall.
For Brock Burrum to regain second position, it needs to defeat Howlong and boost percentage as Culcairn attempts the same in its clash with Lockhart.
Both Saints and Lions play at home, and on recent form you would expect Culcairn to have the easier task against Lockhart.
The thrilling four-point win by the Giants has all but guaranteed them a top-six spot. They are currently fourth and play second-last Jindera this week.
An unexpected loss would see the Giants drop to sixth and a possible elimination final against the Saints or Culcairn.
Holbrook looks to have navigated a tough draw over the last month to be only a home win over CDHBU this Saturday away from playing finals.
The Brookers could jump as high as fourth with a win this week, while a loss could see them drop to eighth.
Finishing sixth would lead to a clash with either Culcairn or Brock Burrum in week one of finals.
Meanwhile, Culcairn spearhead Adam Prior has rocketed all the way into first in the race for the league's leading goalkicker award after booting an amazing 19 goals against Magpies.
The Lions managed to boot a season-high total of 40.20 (260) to boost their percentage by a whopping 23 per cent between round 16 and 17.
Culcairn had trailed the Saints by almost 30 percentage points prior to last Saturday's matches.
Prior now leads Henty star forward Damian Cupido by 13 goals.
Osborne will finish as minor premier, with its last home and away match at Osborne against Murray Magpies before having week one of the finals off.
The Tigers were made to work hard for their win at Lockhart.
Sam Rutland and Matt Rava were among those who starred for the minor premiers.
A four-goal cameo by Holbrook star Andrew Dess in 12 minutes of the second term was a huge factor in the Brookers' win at Urana. The pace and speed of the young Brookers proved to much for the Crows, with Holbrook debuting another teenager in Bailey Churchill.
A finals appearance for Holbrook will coincide with the return from injury of skipper Josh Jones.
Will Holmes was a late withdrawal against the Crows.
Elsewhere, CDHBU almost upset the Swampies and only trailed by 11 points midway through the final term, before two late Henty goals secured the valuable four points at Coreen.
The Power will travel to Holbrook in the final round keen to derail the Brookers' finals chances with an upset win.
Billabong Crows continue to stumble as the finals approach with a 30-point loss to the in-form Holbrook putting them under pressure to stay in the six.
The Crows have a crucial and season defining away trip to Henty this Saturday.
A win guarantees them finals action, however a loss means it gets interesting.
The Crows currently have a for and against ratio of 295 points in the positive, while Henty has a for and against of 214.
This would mean for Henty to go ahead of the Crows, it would have to win by at least seven to eight goals.
