The Henty Public School Band is competing in the Wagga Wagga Eisteddfod on Thursday, August 15. The bus taking the children will be leaving at 8.30am sharp. Performances will commence at 9.30am at Joyes Hall Charles Sturt University, Wagga and parents and friends are welcome to come along. Congratulations to Ashton Scholz who was awarded his certificate for being the 11-year-old runner-up age champion at the Southern Riverina Athletics Carnival.

With the warmer months ahead of us and the risk of bush and grass fires, it is important to know of Henty's assembly point in case of a major fire/disaster alert. The assembly point for Henty is the Henty Public School. The school was chosen due to its central position with the nearby Henty and District Lifestyle Centre to cater for overflow and the adjacent fire station. There was also the consideration for catering for crowds being serviced from the main street.
Following the great success of the 2019 show, Henty Show Society members are in the process of seeking the major item of interest for their 116th Show.
St Paul's Pre-loved Toy and Booksale is being held on September 27. The school is seeking donations of books and toys, new or old for the sale. Funds raised will go towards their new playground project designed by the school's kindergarten girls. Contact 6929 3323.
Neil Meyer and Tony O'Brien, of the Henty Men's Shed, have each spent one day in Beechworth, Victoria undertaking respective courses on governance and OH&S. Also, at the shed's AGM last Friday, these members were awarded life membership acknowledging their contributions to the Henty Men's Shed activities, with Neil Meyer also being elected president for the year.
