HENTY Public School student, Hannah Male, competed in the state tennis competition in Inverell last week. Hannah also joins Katelyn, Ryder and Ryan on making it through to the tennis knockout round three which will be held over the coming weeks.

IN addition to tennis, Ryan Klemke was recently presented with an achievement award and medal from The Australian Speech Communication Association for his efforts in speech.

THIS Saturday, the Henty Fire Brigade are holding their open day with a free sausage sizzle, refreshments fire safety information, ambulance and CFR educators attending and other demonstrations. The event starts at 10am and ends at 2pm. The event will also promote family safety through winter. The station's vintage fire engine will also be on display.

COME and join in the fun on Tuesday, May 28 from 6pm to 8 pm, when Henty Active Arts has Marie sharing knowledge on making beaded friendship bracelets. STEPHANIE Bedggood travelled to Melbourne last weekend to see her beloved Blues take on the Pies at Melbourne Cricket Ground. It was Steph's first visit to the ground and it was a cold day for her to witness her team beaten by 19 points. Steph would have enjoyed the game significantly more if the person sitting in front of her and being the size of a house, would have remained seated during times of exciting play and the controversial multiple brawls elsewhere in the stands.
